Remarkable Women of Lake Geneva

Sunday, May 10 | 12:30 PM – 4 PM

Celebrate the remarkable women of Geneva Lake while taking a voyage with the Lake Geneva Cruise Line to Black Point Estate. This narrated boat tour will focus on many of the remarkable women that have lived along the Shore of Geneva Lake. The event includes a tour of Black Point with a focus on the remarkable women of the Estate itself. A complimentary glass of wine will be served at the Estate before returning to the ship. To purchase a ticket, please call the Lake Geneva Cruise Line at 262-248-6206.

Grand Geneva Tour

Hop on the trolley from the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa and enjoy a scenic ride to Black Point Estate & Gardens. This includes a complete tour of the site.

Nooks and Crannies Tour

Fridays from July 3 – Oct. 30 | 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Enjoy a complete tour of Black Point Estate & Gardens and see exclusive behind-the-scenes areas not included on the public tours including the root cellar, basement, third-floor bedrooms, and a view into the tower. Due to safety reasons, guests are not permitted to climb the tower stairs. Tour also includes lunch on the veranda. Guests will arrive via trolley from the Grand Geneva.

Learn about Lake Geneva’s famously designed buildings by architects including Daniel Burnham, Frank Lloyd Wright, and William Le Baron Jenny, as well as the colorful past of the downtown and the historic Maple Park neighborhoods. This tour departs from 812 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva. These tours are limited to 20 people per guide.

Beer Barons of Lake Geneva

Cruise departs from the Riviera Dock 812 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva, WI, 53147

Enjoy an afternoon cruising Geneva Lake while learning about the history of the beer barons that vacationed and lived along its shores. Once at Black Point, guests will be treated to a program and beer tasting of beers unique to the region. This program highlights the evolution of the brewing industry in Milwaukee and Chicago with a local flavor. Beer tastings, snacks, and souvenir beer mug included with ticket.

Enjoy a picnic dinner and conversation with Conrad Seipp, 19th century Chicago beer baron and the original owner of the estate, brought to life by Randy Witt, local historian and member of the Black Point staff. The picnic dinner will be provided by Lake Geneva Country Meats and is paired with a German-style lager. This is a very rare opportunity to experience the estate as a guest would have in the 19th century. One beverage is included with a ticket. A cash bar will be available for additional drinks.

4th Annual Plein Air Art Invitational

Saturday, Aug. 29 | 4 PM – 9 PM

This event is the annual fundraiser for Black Point Estate & Gardens. This is a plein air art event and garden cocktail party. Artists create new works of art at the estate while guests enjoy music, light refreshments, and appetizers on our veranda. All proceeds benefit the estate.

East Troy Electric Railroad Beer Train

Sept. 5 | 5 PM – 8 PM

This tasting will take place on the East Troy Electric Railroad and include a variety of beers brewed in Wisconsin today, including weissbiers, lagers, ale, and steam beers. Michael Rehberg, Lead Interpreter at Black Point Estate, will lead the tasting while discussing the 19th-century beer barons of Chicago and Milwaukee. Departs from 2002 Church Street, East Troy.

Maple Park Historic District Lantern Tour

Sept. 19 | 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Walking tour of the Historic Maple Park District in Lake Geneva. This tour includes access to Historic Steppingstone and a narrated tour of the Maple Park neighborhood. Learn about this charming neighborhood and why it’s on the National Register of Historic Places. This tour departs from 817 Wisconsin Street, Lake Geneva.

When Angels Carried Them Away:
Death and Mourning in the Victorian Era

Oct. 2-3 | 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Oct. 9-10 | 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Victorians embraced death as a cause for elaborate ritual. During this era (1876-1915) the ritual of death became increasingly sophisticated and the period saw the development of the modern cemetery, mortician and public funeral complete with floral arrangements and hearse transportation for the deceased. This program will feature a presentation on Victorian funeral and mourning customs, a first floor house tour, and narrated lake boat tour of maritime mishaps on the Lake Geneva Cruise Line. Cruise departs from the Riviera Dock 812 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva.

Oak Hill Cemetery Walks

This walking tour will highlight some of the former Lake Geneva residents interred in this beautiful cemetery. Guests will also learn about the cemetery designer, Horace W.S. Cleveland and his work around the Midwest. Tour departs from 1101 Cemetery Road, Lake Geneva.

Walking Tour: Sordid and Scandalous

Hear the historic gossip of Lake Geneva including the dish on a 1950s bank robbery, the town’s tie to prohibition gangsters and tales of the Lake Geneva sea serpent. An Evening with Agatha Christie

Friday, Oct. 24 | 6 PM – 7:30 PM

Enjoy an intimate evening tour of the first floor followed by a conversation with Agatha Christie on our veranda. Christie, brought to life by local historian and actress Chris Brookes,  will discuss her literary career, including “Murder on the Orient Express” and her wildly successful play “Mousetrap.”A complimentary glass of wine is included.
